Meet Jonathan

This week, we chatted with Jonathan, to learn more about his career aspirations and why he joined the African Accounting Academy. Jonathan is a student in our May 2019 Cohort in Rwanda, and is on track to complete the African Accounting Academy course by 10 August 2019!

Haystack: Which university did you attend?

Jonathan: I attend University of Rwanda College of Business and Economics. I study at the Gikondo campus.

Haystack: Where are you working now and what is your role?

Jonathan: Right now, I am working at a professional internship at HLB Rwanda, an audit and tax firm. I am a trainee in accounting, audit and tax. Some of my responsibilities are capturing data in excel, posting journals in QuickBooks and preparing tax declarations.

Haystack: How do you think the African Accounting Academy will impact your future day-to-day work?

Jonathan: : The course has had a positive impact because it has given me some new insights that help me to carry out my tasks day to day. I also find that I am motivated by AAA because I am learning new skills.

Haystack: What are your career goals?

Jonathan: My career goal is to become a businessman, providing accounting services to other companies.

Haystack: What are your hobbies outside work and studying?

Jonathan: My hobbies are to make stories with my friends, movies and music.

Haystack: Any favourite movies or singers?

Jonathan: My favorite movie is the Notebook. My favorite singer is Rudeboy, from Tanzania.
